Love – Day 6

The Scripture focus of our week has been on love, from the chapter that defines both what love IS and IS NOT. No person on earth has not failed those they love. How is it that Scripture says that love never fails?

The definition of fail means “to fall or fall off, to lose it, or fall powerless.” Love cannot fail because love gets back up. It can be found again, its strength renewed, all because of the love of Christ Jesus. This Babe of the manger is the Gift of Love from our Heavenly Father—a gift given freely, without reservation, that enables us to continue loving.

Love is the only eternal gift of the Father. David Guzik says, In heaven, faith and hope will have fulfilled their purpose. But we will always love the Lord and each other and grow in that love through eternity.”

Prayer

Father, forgive my failings, restore my soul. Stir in me love for others and remind me of Your love for me, the only love that never fails. Amen.

Call to Action

As we close this week on love, how have you been challenged? Can we agree together that we all have a long way to go? Ask God to show you His love for you in a tangible way. Ask God who He is calling you to love this week. And when He shows you, reach out to them and see how He will meet you. His love never fails!
