“Who is like You, O Lord, among the mighty ones? Who is like You, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders?” Exodus 15:11

My Psalm

Walk His Way Revisited
First posted in August, 2014

I had just started to pray one morning, when these words came to me: “There is no one like You, Lord.”

Now ladies, I want to tell you that when you get a thought like that seemingly from nowhere, it is the Holy Spirit moving in you for a reason. In this case, the Spirit of God within me was prompting me to worship. I had much to pray about, but it was as if the Spirit had changed the green light to go ahead with my own thoughts to the red light of “stop the direction you are headed and go this way instead.”

I love it when the Lord does this. It is always a sweet time of fellowship with Him when I become aware of Him calling me away to Him, and I leave off what I am doing to be with Him.

So I sat with those words for a few minutes, knowing they were given to me by the Spirit: “There is no one like You, Lord.” Then, I had this thought: If there is no one like Him, then we could say He is unique. From there, this psalm of praise and worship came from deep within me:

Lord, You are UNIQUE.

There is no other who can create with mere words.

There is no other who can bring life by just breathing His own breath into someone.

There is no other who never changes, never breaks down, never sleeps, never breaks a promise.

There is no other who knows everything.

There is no other who is everywhere at once.

All Your attributes are uniquely Yours. No one else has Your attributes.

There is no other who sovereignly rules over the affairs of all mankind.

There is no other who has no beginning and no end.

There is no other who is pure holiness.

There is no other who can reflect His glory in a man’s face.

There is no other who can feed an entire nation with food dropped from heaven.

There is no other who can multiply the fish and bread contained in a small basket to satisfy the hunger of a hillside crowded with people.

There is no other who can speak to calm a storm, speak to make the sun stand still, speak to cause rain to cease, speak to cause the sea to pile up.

There is no other who commands angel armies.

There is no other who oversees our formation in our mother’s womb.

There is no other who can prepare a place for us in the heavens.

For all this and so much more, I worship You, O Lord.

Father, accept as an offering of praise my humble attempt to convey the awe I feel towards You. Amen.
