“So the LORD said, “If you have faith as a mustard seed, you can say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be pulled up by the roots and be planted in the sea’ and it would obey you.” Luke 17:6

Invitation Inspiration

Part 2

Fast forward to Christmas Eve service. My family got settled in our seats and while waiting for service to begin, I glanced around the two-story convention center room for familiar faces. Suddenly, I looked directly in front of us and not three rows away was, I was sure, Francisco! I couldn’t believe my eyes, but also could not tell for sure if it was him.

I explained to my family the story and who I thought it might be and all throughout the service never could quite get a good enough look to tell if it was him indeed. I even commented to my daughter that I really didn’t want to know if it WASN’T him.  I’d rather just believe that it COULD be.

At the end of the service immediately following an invitation for salvation, I noticed that someone I knew was sitting directly behind him. Politely, I inquired, “Excuse me, I think I know the gentleman right in front of you. Do you mind tapping him on the shoulder?”

Upon him turning around, I immediately knew that it was him, Francisco! I’m sure the look on my face was shocking and full of disbelief. I said, “Is your name Francisco?” to which he replied, “Yes.” I said, “I’m not sure if you remember me or not, but you helped me a couple of weeks ago at the video game store. I’m so glad you were able to come and I hope you enjoyed the service!” I don’t remember much after that, just that he remembered me and that he did like it.

As soon as I turned to leave with my family, tears welled up in my eyes as I felt their warmth pouring down my cheeks. This was my Christmas miracle.

Father, we know that You always are doing good things. Help us to be faithful in the little things, and then we know You will do what You wanted to do all along! Amen.
