“And God said to Moses, ‘I AM WHO I AM.’ And He said, ‘Thus you shall say to the children of Israel, “I AM has sent me to you.”’” Exodus 3:14

I AM

In a Joyce Meyer commentary from the Battlefield of the Mind Amplified Bible, she writes: “I AM is above, beyond and more than anything your mind can conceive. In using the name I AM, God is telling His people, He is all they need. He can do anything that needs to be done and has such limitless power, our minds cannot even begin to comprehend it.”

God is essentially saying, “I’ve got this, and there is no this too big for Me to handle.”

In John 8:58 (Amplified Bible) Jesus says,“I assure you and most solemnly say to you, before Abraham was born, I Am.” Joyce goes on to say, “When we pray in Jesus’ name, we are praying in the name of the Great I Am, the all-powerful God of all eternity.”

Over and over again the Israelites saw God perform miracles and yet they still turned away, looking to other gods and men to solve problems only God could solve. I sometimes think, “How could they be so stupid?” But I am stopped each time with the whisper, “Don’t you do the same thing?” Yes, tragically, sometimes I do. Over and over again Christ shows up in miraculous ways in my life: mending relationships, physical healing, doing “God math” in our finances—and yet something will come up, and I freak out as if I AM cannot handle this thing. When God says, “I’ve got this,” there is nothing this doesn’t encompass becausethere is nothing God hasn’t created and either ordained or allowed.

“Father God, it never ceases to amaze me that even as I AM, with such unfathomable power, You still love us and use that power to bring goodness to our lives and glory to Your name. May we truly begin to grasp, there is nothing I AM can’t do. Amen.”
