Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, to God who alone is wise, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.” 1 Timothy 1:17

Glorious God!

Sometimes the Lord will catch me off guard and thrill my heart with overwhelming amazement. Last evening on a walk with my husband, we noticed the first stars in the sky. I got out my phone which has an app to see which stars/planets are where. The first star out was actually Jupiter and the second was Saturn, both planets! I’m amazed how awesome our Creator is and to think He named each one of the stars and planets: “He counts the number of stars; He calls them all by name” (Psalm 147:4).He spoke each one into being (Genesis 1:14-16). There are billions of galaxies and each one has billions of stars. I’m in awe!

And then I think of His personal involvement with each of us. He knows how many hairs are on our heads (Matthew 10:30, Luke 12:7) and the length of our days (Psalm 39:4-5). He is our Creator and ordains each day as we walk with Him.

Putting all of this in the perspective of His light helps me to see my trials, disappointments, impatience, and worries as instruments of His grace to direct me closer to His heart. I know I need to keep my focus on Him and trust that He is using these things through the power of the Holy Spirit to change me more into the image of Christ. These are growth opportunities and well worth the outcome even though I don’t at all understand, especially when it involves the cruelty of fallen man. But I must trust, obey, and pray. He has each concern and will accomplish His best purpose for each (Psalm 138:8).

There is a day we can all look forward to where we will see and understand. We will be face to face with our God. There will be no more sin to trip us up, and we’ll have the ability to see our Lord in all His glory in the beauty of His holiness, and worship with all the heavenly beings with pure, focused hearts. We’ll understand nothing else really matters.

But for now, we are called to walk with Him here on earth as He teaches us to worship, live in His light, confess our shortcomings, and open our hearts and minds for His leading. He gives us families to love and minister to. He gives us good friends to share and cry with. He gives us jobs and service to do for His glory. He hears our cries when we are suffering or discouraged and promises He is with us and will accomplish all our concerns (in His perfect way). With this focus, how can we not be compelled to worship and obey, knowing it is for His glory! We truly can glorify God and enjoy Him forever, with pure, open hearts!

“Lord, today we offer ourselves as living sacrifices for Your glory, because You are the King eternal, immortal, invisible, all-wise God. We give You honor and glory forever. Amen!”
