“Then Joshua called the twelve men whom he had appointed from the children of Israel, one man from very tribe; and Joshua said to them: ‘Cross over before the ark of the LORD your God into the midst of the Jordan, and each one of you take up a stone on his shoulder, according to the number of the tribes of the children of Israel, that this may be a sign among you when your children ask in time to come saying, “What do these stones mean to you?” Then you shall answer them that the waters of the Jordan were cut off before the ark of the covenant of the LORD; when it crossed over the Jordan, the waters of the Jordan were cut off. And these stones shall be for a memorial to the children of Israel forever.’” Joshua 4:4-7

Trinkets of Love

A Happy Planner is my journal of choice for my time with Jesus. Decorating it with stickers and washi tape satisfies my creative side. There are pockets to keep cards, pictures, programs, invitations and the like that have been collected along the way. It is fun to go back and see what’s been saved. The picture below shows just a few of the trinkets from the last couple of months that have crossed my path. Do you see a theme arising? (I’ll give you a clue; it’s on the key.)

I see God telling me that I am loved. What has God been telling you? I would encourage you to save those little things that come into your life. They will become for you a “memorial stone” for what God has been telling you and doing for you; then when times are difficult, you can remember the joy and love that surrounds you even during the worst of times.

“Father God, thank You for the little reminders and “trinkets” of love that cross our paths often on a daily basis. Let us collect them as a memorial to Your love for us.  Amen.”
