“How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of him who brings good news, who proclaims peace, who brings glad tidings of good things; who proclaims salvation. Who says to Zion, ‘Our God reigns!’” Isaiah 52:7

 Beautiful Feet

The message the Lord has given to us is great news! It’s the best news a person could ever hear. News that gives salvation, peace, rest, eternal life and a relationship with the God of the universe through His Son, Jesus Christ.

So why do people reject this wonderful news of salvation and rescue? The world is loud and its lies seem so appealing that they don’t realize the relief and true joy the good news gives. They are blinded by the darkness. We need to pray for holes in the darkness and opportunities to share truth.

In my morning prayers I often ask the Lord to bring someone for me to tell about what Jesus did on the cross for our sin, and the rescue they would receive by believing in His name. But as the day moves along, I may get a word in about Him here and there, but when the day is done, did I even affect anyone? Was I really obedient in sharing my faith? Do I forget how beautiful my feet are and how wonderful this news is? Did I miss the opportunity? I’m not sure, but I know the Lord is faithful to use us when we commit ourselves to live for Him and share when given opportunity.

I just don’t want to miss His prompting. Working with the same people every day, I pray for awakenings and that Christ’s life in me would speak to their hearts and they would ask the reason for the hope I have. My heart aches for their need and the destruction that is happening because of choices other than Christ.

As it says in Ephesians 6:15, “Having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace..,.” and with that readiness when I open my mouth, the Lord will give me the words to say at the right moment. I need to continue to pray and trust.

Ephesians 6:19 says, “And for me, that utterance may be given to me, that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel…”

I do passionately want to see Christ glorified; and for those I know who need Him, that they would realize it and receive His goodness and peace by salvation in His Name. So I will continue to pray for open hearts, for boldness to speak out in love in His time, and to continue to walk in the beautiful feet He has given bringing the good news: Our God reigns! There is salvation in no other name! That is truth and rescue.

“Father, I pray that You would continue to open hearts of those in our daily lives and that the words would come out of our mouths that they need to hear. I pray we would be ready, remembering You have given us beautiful feet with the best news ever made known to man to share. Amen.”
