Walk His Way
“Then I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within them, and take the stony heart out of their flesh, and give them a heart of flesh, that they may walk in My statutes and keep My judgments and do them; and they shall be My people and I will be their God.” Ezekiel 11:19-20
Happy 2023!
Today begins our tenth year of posting daily devotionals. It has been our pleasure to use the gifts God has given us to write our devotional thoughts, share our most worshipful moments, curate God’s lessons to us, and tell you what we’ve learned along the way. We hope that you have been blessed and have grown in your own walk with Him.
As I read the Scriptures this morning, the one written above spoke to me of how we can truly “Walk His Way” (the name of this devotional series) in this life. Try as we might, we cannot do it on our own. We can have the best of intentions—especially as we begin a new year with fresh goals, plans, and resolutions—but we will stumble along the way, perhaps fall, and possibly even forget what seemed so important on this first day of 2023.
But God keeps us going. He gives us a new spirit, a heart of flesh, undivided, unhypocritical (“one”), SO THAT we may walk in His statutes, keep His judgments, and do them. He is the One who enables us in our weakness, in our own flesh, in His Spirit that He gives, to actually walk His way.
If He did not do this, how would we know what to do? Which direction to face? What words to speak? Who to share with? How to testify of Him? We wouldn’t know. “But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned…. For who has known the mind of the LORD that he may instruct Him? But we have the mind of Christ” (1 Corinthians 2:14-16).
He shows us the way to walk. May God be praised!
Lord, show us Your way, that we may walk with You all the days of our lives. Amen.
Perhaps now would be a good time to invite friends and family to subscribe to these daily devotionals! Click here to subscribe to Walk His Way Daily Devotionals.
