“For He shall give His angels charge over you, to keep you in all your ways.” Psalm 91:11
Spiritual Lens
It was Christmas Eve, and my family was at Disney World. WHAT? Who would spend Christmas at an amusement park? Yes, I know, not my first choice either, but it happened. We had purchased tickets and made plans and then all that changed. So, we made the best of it.
There were carols and hot chocolate and a walk through a beautifully lit street that had soap bubbles falling to look like snow. When we entered the street, they handed us glasses to wear to enhance the experience. As I placed them on my nose, I saw tiny angels, complete with flapping wings, wherever there was a Christmas light. Every tiny light became an angel. It was really overwhelming as my focus went from one tiny light and one angel to hundreds and hundreds of lights and angels that filled the sky. Was this what the spiritual realm looked like? I wondered. Was angel upon angel given charge over us?
I have thought of that trip often with fond memories. What seemed like a commercial and materialistic Christmas gave me a renewed perspective and excitement about the spiritual realm. If what is unseen is more real than what is seen, then I can be assured that God is at work, even when I can’t see it. This Psalm says He has given His angels charge over me to keep me in all my ways. I need only to be looking through spiritual lenses to believe and accept that He is at work.
Ask the Lord if there is something in your life that you need to be looking at through spiritual lenses. Be ready to be amazed at what He shows you of the spiritual realm. He is at work.
Lord, open my eyes to what You are doing that I cannot see. I trust that you are at work, Lord Jesus. Amen.
Wow!! What an awesome visual! Brings tears just to think about it.
Thank you for sharing.
Oh, I actually got an excitement about crossing over from life on earth to life in Heaven! What God must have in store for us!!
