“From the rising of the sun to its going down, The LORD’s name is to be praised.” Psalm 113:3
Praise in Provision
I was recently under the weather. That’s funny phraseology for being ill, but it originally came from people being seasick on rough and stormy waters. They were told to move below deck and get under the weather, literally. While this would not calm the storm, it would quiet aching bellies.
God provides in every storm. My storm came with a prescription. While I lay sick, I was to take in the sun twice a day for twenty minutes, along with some other meds and remedies. That seemed simple enough. I know about the importance of vitamin D, but honestly, even getting out of bed seemed like too much effort. Then I thought, what could it hurt to do ALL the doctor ordered. I moved my lawn chair to the grass and let the warmth of a 70-degree day wrap around me like a warm blanket. The sun on my face felt so good. It lessened my symptoms with each day, and I looked forward to my time in the sun.
Looking up at the beautiful blue sky with that bright glowing remedy, it reminded me that even in the early days of creation, He had provided for what was bringing me healing on that day.
Did He create the sun knowing our need for vitamin D and its healing properties? Of course, He did! Did He know way back then what I would need that day? Certainly! Praise was on my lips!
He is truly our provider in every storm! When the seas are rough, when illness shakes us, when we don’t see our way through—from the rising of the sun to its going down, our God has already provided for us everything we need!
Good Father, remind us of simple provision and unseen benefits of Your beautiful creation. We praise Your name! Amen.
The all knowing, all seeing, all powerful Creator! Thank you, Lord!
