“Remember the former things of old, for I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like Me, declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times things that are not yet done, saying, ‘My counsel shall stand, and I will do all My pleasure.’” Isaiah 46:9-10

The Plan

Walk His Way Revisited

One Sunday morning I arrived at church several minutes before the service was to start. After smiling at people near me and dutifully reading the info announcing upcoming events, I glanced at the picture being projected onto the far wall. On this particular Sunday it was a beautiful landscape and I found myself imagining being in that place.

After several moments I glanced up at the image being projected directly above where I was sitting; it looked shockingly different! I could see all the little pixelated squares of the image making it fuzzy and unclear up so close! Then I felt the Lord nudging at my heart to get my attention. He wanted me to pay attention and be reminded that His view is not like my view.

His view across the expanse of life historically and personally, from the very beginning to the very end and every single situation and circumstance in between, is like the projection on the far wall; clear, in focus, detailed, and perfect. My view, however, is like the projection on the near wall; distorted, pixelated, unclear, and imperfect.

God reminded me that absolutely nothing slips His notice, He doesn’t forget, isn’t asleep, doesn’t need glasses, doesn’t get distracted, worried, anxious, nor flustered.  His word is true, His promises are true, and He is 100% faithful, 100% of the time.  God always has a plan. It’s ok if I don’t understand because I have the too-close, pixelated view…but God does not.

Heavenly Father, thank You for Your unfailingly perfect plan for my life and for everything that I don’t understand. Amen.
