“He has made the earth by His power; He has established the world by His wisdom, and stretched out the heaven by His understanding.” Jeremiah 51:15
How He Makes Us
Walk His Way Revisited
I love to stop and ponder any Scripture that tells me more about God, about His character and His ways. I marvel at His perfection in all things. I take courage for this life and its challenges by learning more completely His infinite care, all-encompassing love, and precise provision for us, His beloveds.
Today, as I read the above Scripture, I meditated on how He started everything from scratch.
He used His power to make a beginning out of eternity.
He used His wisdom to establish the world—that is, the land, the inhabitants of the land, and all the systems needed to keep it going until the day He says, “Enough.”
He used His understanding to stretch out the heavens—the image here is Him pulling and prodding the heavens into their perfect shape, until they are stretched to the corners, nooks, and crannies of where they need to be, everything functioning in its place.
This is how He makes us, too. He forms us in our mother’s womb by His power, to make a beginning for us. A start date for a new creation. Where before there was no person—you—now there is.
He uses His perfect wisdom of all things to establish our world—where we will live, who we will live with, the time frame of our influence (which is from the moment of conception to our last breath), the particular systems that will give our life structure, the fences that will keep us from heading in certain directions, the open doors that will lead us on the paths He intends us to walk.
And He uses His understanding to stretch us, prod us, pull us into the space that has been given us to fill. By His understanding of what He made, He knows our abilities and talents, personality and character, likes and dislikes, successes and failures, longings and choices, stubbornness and yieldedness, rebellion and submission. He can pull and tug and stretch us into the place He prepared for us.
How magnificent and awe-producing He is in all His ways! He is glorious beyond compare. No one is like Him; no lesser god can approach His power, wisdom, and understanding. All glory belongs to Him. He is high above all things.
Father, we worship You today for Who You are, and all You have done, and all You are yet to do. None can find fault nor attribute blame to You, for You are holy and without equal. Hallelujah! Amen.
Amen! What a great way to start the day! Thank you for sharing!
Hallelujah and amen!
Can you feel yourself being drawn closer to the Author and Finisher as we near the day of knowing Him?
Glory!
