“Hear my prayer, O Lord, and let my cry come to You. Do not hide Your face from me in the day of my trouble; incline Your ear to me; in the day that I call, answer me speedily.” Psalm 102:1-2
Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, Jesus
Walk His Way Revisited
I sit and wait.
Heart beats much too fast
as I tremble with fear.
Please, Lord, come near.
Jesus, hold me together,
else I will fly apart
into millions of pieces,
starting with my heart.
///
Fear as sharp as a knife
slicing through our life.
Fear we can’t control
unless His hand we hold.
His name we say, that’s the way we pray.
Still I sit and wait and am frozen in fear.
Heart beats too fast,
Jesus, Lord, come near.
///
Not cancer, I whisper, please.
I can’t say it out loud.
Over all I hold dear
it casts such a dark cloud.
My thoughts are a jumble,
they make no sense.
I search for a reason
through a fog that is dense.
///
Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, Jesus,
His dear name I repeat.
The only way to any comfort
as I’m frozen in this seat.
So I wait and I wait,
then into His pierced hands
I gently release
My love—my man!
Father, I know Your promise is to be faithful to us and walk us through this dark valley. Help us cling to You as we wait. Comfort us with Your presence. We pray this in the strong name of Your Son, Jesus. Amen.
Feeling this—oh how we need Jesus! Thanks for this beautiful poem!
