“For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ.” Galatians 3:27
How Did I Do?
As a retired person, my life at home did not drastically change when coronavirus came upon us. However, I know for many of you this has been a challenging season. There are, of course, outside influences that are mood swingers for me—for instance the news, political ups and downs, divisions among us, no large gatherings, inability to visit the elderly, and many other restrictions and changes.
This brought disruption, bitterness, and hostility in me. Did I “put on Christ” like a coat of armor during this time of struggle? Was I fully wrapped each day, showing others Christ in me by the coat I wore?
Did I see You, Lord?
Did I listen to You when You spoke to me?
Did I see You beside me when I was struggling and hurting?
Did I put down my bitterness and fears at the foot of the Cross?
Did I walk in Your shoes so others would see Your light?
Did I praise You in all things big and small?
Did I surrender everything to You?
Did I see beyond myself?
Were You able to shape me like clay this year or did I resist?
Did I preach the gospel when You opened the door?
Did I always love my neighbor just as You told me to?
Did I pray for our political leaders even when I did not want to?
Did I forgive that person for yelling and accusing me of wrong?
Did I notice when You changed me inside and did I thank You?
Did I heartily pray, joyfully worship, and immerse myself in Your Word?
Did I honestly sit in Your presence and soak up Your goodness?
Did I remember You are sovereign, and You have the world in Your hands?
Did I even ask You for forgiveness?
Did I put on Christ like You told me to?
Am I aware that You are always with me? YES, Lord!
May we always search and find Your goodness no matter where we are in life. Let us have pure joy in knowing we are adorned with Jesus. Amen.
“But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts” (Romans 13:14).
Amen sister! Good questions to ponder! Thank you!
This is such a great way to do a self-check about if/how we have “put on” Christ. Thank you for the thought provoking questions.
Awesome. Amen !!
