“Oh how manifold are Your works! In wisdom You have made them all. The earth is full of Your possessions.” Psalm 104:24

Manifold Grace

I’m sitting out on my deck this beautiful fall day enjoying the breeze gently blowing the trees in the quietness of the afternoon. I’ve finished my daily “stuff” and have a chance to chill. A few birds flying, the distant knock of a woodpecker, the chirping of a magpie are adding to my enjoyment.

All is interrupted by a helicopter flying over on regular patrol or off to save the world. And now the neighbor’s law mower. Life continues. My mind wanders to God’s promise that His eyes are on us and He is in control of the many things that are going on by His grace.

Last week something else interrupted us. My daughter, a new mom, had gotten a bad cold. With the upswing of COVID in our county, not knowing for sure it was just a cold, the “what ifs” invaded my quiet space—the fears of all the lives affected just in our small circle. She did get tested and it was negative, hurray. Fear can grab and disrupt, but God, He’s still the same even if the test would have been positive. Life continues on by His grace.

I’m amazed at the diversity of our majestic God. He is sovereign and has complete wisdom and control over so many things at once. I again turn to worship our Lord because of His multifaceted grace, wisdom and timing. He has never failed to hear our cries and He is never late to His best timing for answering our concerns and crisis. His glory enfolds in every situation in His perfect way.

Whether it be a pandemic, or other health problems, unrest, fires, earthquakes, family disorders, financial problems, stress of a job, or wild animals on the loose, He has this, whatever the “this” is. He reminds us to look up and trust. Believe His unknown and unseen solution. Remain in the quiet place. He has this and gives us His peace when we rest in His capableness. His manifold grace is always there to meet us.

“And He said, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore, most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me” (2 Corinthians 12:9).

His grace will meet us sufficiently. I encourage you to rest in His presence as you hand over your “this” to the Almighty Savior who sees us in our crisis and fears. He loves us and rescues His beloved children continually.

Dear Jesus, thank You for meeting each one of us and calling us to Your quiet place, taking the ‘this’ in Your capable hands as we hand it up to You now. You bless us with Your manifold grace and love. We love You, Jesus!
