Truth
Walk His Way Revisited

What is truth? The dictionary defines truth as the quality or state of being true; that which is true or in accordance with fact or reality, and a fact or belief that is accepted as true.
What do we do when we hear or see something about another person that we are not sure is true? Some information was shared with me about another friend and it made me feel uncomfortable and question their integrity. I didn’t like this feeling inside that kept me questioning it in my mind and spirit.
What should a Christian do when we sense discernment (good or bad) about a situation or person? I didn’t want to keep carrying around these feelings about another person that may or may not be true. I didn’t want to gossip to others and ask what they thought or what I should believe. But I still hurt and felt uneasy. After wrestling with my feelings, I took this to the Lord. He immediately showed me that in this world we will be hurt and deceived by others. We may even be lied to by others. Sometimes we have people in our own family that hurt us with constant lies or deception.
How do we deal with this as a child of God? God showed me in His Word that He is truth. God speaks truth, He knows truth, He is true in all His relationships, and He wants us to walk in truth. I immediately had to then confess to the Lord my own sin of any false dealings in my own relationships with others. My heart was lighter and I knew God’s truth would prevail.
I still didn’t have a clear answer about the situation with my friend, but I am resting my feelings of uneasiness about this situation and I trust God to reveal truth in His time. It’s so freeing to let go and trust God with all things. And in this place is peace. “Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free” (John 8:32).
Lord help us to take all of our concerns to You in prayer. You are truth and You are more than able to shine the light of truth in any and all situations in Your perfect timing. Instead of gossiping or thinking something that may be false, or carrying around these burdens, may we leave it all at Your feet and trust You. Amen.
There are times when some of the news (most?) feels like gossip. Does anyone else feel like that?
I feel like that! I was just telling my sister yesterday that I don’t believe most of the news on tv or what I read online or what is posted on FB. There is SO much false information out there. I choose to do my best to be informed, but trust only God for the truth at the end of the day. He will make all things right in the end. Come soon Lord Jesus!!!
