“You make known to me the path of life; You will fill me with joy in Your presence, with eternal pleasures at Your right hand.” Psalm 16:11 NIV

 In the Presence of Jehovah

I needed to stop my day. Just stop and drop. It was time to take a worship break. I was listening to an anointed version of “In the Presence of Jehovah”, and I was broken. In the anointed presence of the One who made me, who could stand? I had to bow the knee. How could I do less? I heard a pastor mention that he gets on his knees every day (at his age only for a brief moment), but he wants to put himself into a humble posture to remind himself of his position before Almighty God. He says, “You are God, and I am not.”

My beautiful “shelter at home” experience has been a huge blessing of discovery to me.  Slowing down, instead of just a blur, I can see again what is truly important to me. I want no “social distance” between my Father and me, and I want to “face-time” with Jesus and “zoom” into the presence of the King. I want to be a “Mary” and sit at His feet and just enjoy being with Him. Sometimes you just need to take a forced time out. STOP what you are doing, LOOK into His Word, and LISTEN to His voice.

Moses asked God to show him His glory. God loved this heart of Moses that asked for more of Him.

“If You are pleased with me, teach me Your ways so I may know You and continue to find favor with You. Remember that this nation is Your people.” The LORD replied, ‘My Presence will go with you and I will give you rest’” (Exodus 33:13, 14 NIV).

The lyrics to the chorus that began my return to the practice of His presence are now my testimony. Troubles did vanish and my heart and other hearts are mended in His presence. Join me in His Presence for the duration of this “stay at home time of spiritual renewal.”

In the presence of Jehovah,

God Almighty, Prince of Peace.

Troubles vanish, hearts are mended,

In the presence of the King.*

I adore You, Father; be my center, the core of my being. I have missed sitting in Your presence. After this pandemic and life returns to some form of a new normal, I pray that I and those reading this will seek You for direction, perform for an audience of One, and focus on always staying in Your presence. Thank You, Jesus.
