“Yes, my soul, find rest in God, for my hope comes from Him.” Psalm 62:5

Hope

Walk His Way Revisited

I think I forget that I have it sometimes.

The biggest sort of hope.

A real and present hope.

A hope that is because of Jesus.

Lamentations 3:21 says, “Yet this I call to mind and therefore I have hope: because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.”

This life is messy, and it gets really hard sometimes. People are hurt, relationships are broken, and awful things happen. That’s real life.

It’s like being in the ocean. I was just out to play and float along happily, but all of a sudden the waves were too big. They came in too fast. They knocked me over and sucked me down so that I could barely get a breath before the next one came with a force that I could not withstand.

“We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure” (Hebrews 6:19).

These verses tell me that no matter my situation, I. HAVE. HOPE.

A hope that HE loves me. Hope that HE has compassion toward me. Hope that, regardless of what I feel, I am not and will not be consumed by my circumstances. Hope that there will be an end to pain.

And hope for restoration through Jesus.

Hope in every single circumstance.

I am never without hope, because HE is faithful and all of my hope is in Him. This hope serves as my anchor. When those waves come rolling and crashing and pulling, because they will, I am able to remain firm, steadfast, and unwavering in the hope I have in Christ.

Lord Jesus, would I remain always anchored in hope. Would I remember the hope that I have because of You, and would I live out my faith confidently and assuredly because of it. Amen.
