“There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.” Galatians 3:28
A Lesson from the Birds
It’s been said, “Birds of a feather flock together,” unless you are birds in my construction yard. This year mourning doves, swifts (or swallows), hawks, blue birds, goldfinch, jockos and even an owl have been seen there. One morning, perched on the edge of our truck scale, were three or four little birds of different species seeming to greet one another. They had been enjoying bathing and drinking from puddles of water left from the travels of the water truck.
I’m sure these littles were there resting and refreshing themselves before heading on their way south for the winter. No fight ensued, just peaceful rest. How I’d like to see that behavior more in our world—reveling in our differences and sharing in our common needs. We need to consider others as important than ourselves (Philippians 2:3). We need to not judge another because they sin in a different way than we do (Matthew 7:1-3). We need to remember that we all fall short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23). We need to love (John 15:12).
Father, thank You for reminders from Your creation to be kind and share what You’ve given to us. There is plenty of You to go around. Help us to love. Amen.

Amen!
Great reminder. Thank you.
