“Great is our Lord, and mighty in power; His understanding is infinite.” Psalm 147:5

Beyond Measure

This season has presented more challenges than ever before regarding my profession. I own my own business, and I assist in the building industry with new construction and/or remodeling of homes, businesses in projects big or small…in Redding and the outlying areas.

The challenge that I face on a daily basis is getting the job or project started or completed in a timely manner for my clients. I have an amazing team that works for me and with me to make our clients happy with the ongoing project. My team of sub-contractors is called out on other jobs at times and now the building and remodeling industry has been on an upward spiral since the Carr Fire and the Camp Fire. It’s like a runaway train. I am, however, excited to see the new construction ongoing, and happy that people are able to rebuild; however, it creates many challenges and delays, along with finding qualified laborers.

I found myself getting rather irritated with my usual contacts and businesses that I frequent in the process of pursuing products for my clients to take them through whatever project is at hand. I was not getting return phone calls from contacts and businesses as to what I perceived was in a timely manner—it would be weeks before I would hear back from anyone. I found myself getting more and more frustrated to the point of not wanting to do what I do anymore—my profession became “not fun”, and I wanted to look into another profession or employment elsewhere. My attitude was not in a good place.

I repented to my Lord for my attitude. I realized that everyone was and still is on stress overload, and I’m sure they aren’t having very much fun either on this runaway train adventure.

God began to bring qualified people to help fill in for what my usual team was unable to accomplish at the present time.  My clients and I are blessed beyond measure.

It was after I repented and got back on track with taking care of my clients that I began to receive phone calls from those who could come to our aid to get projects started and completed. I got out of step with my Lord…but I’m back, and blessed beyond measure!

God always makes a way—a better way.

“Thank You, Lord, for continuing to be by our side. You see everything we are challenged with, and every obstacle in our way. We praise You, our Helper and Redeemer! In Jesus’ Name. Amen!”
