“For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things He planned for us long ago.” Ephesians 2:10 (NLT)

God’s Masterpiece

During a beautiful walk through a coastal forest, my husband and I soaked in the beauty of the majestic trees that towered over us. I tended to look down as I walked so I would not trip over sticks, rocks, and my feet! The Holy Spirit prompted me to stop and look up. Sometimes in life I walk in a hurry, but I listened and came to a complete stop. I looked skyward and my eyes were fixed on the radiant leaves that glistened. Each brightly lit leaf had a beautiful unique pattern. It was breathtaking. I thought about us, how unique and precious we are in God’s eyes. He sculptured us all so differently. His beauty lights up our lives. We are God’s masterpieces. Wow!

I researched trees and learned there are approximately 400 trees per every human = 3 trillion trees. There are numerous verses related to trees in the Bible that reference our spiritual journey including Jesus dying on a tree (cross). Trees grow under God’s care just as we do. Shouldn’t we daily take advantage of our “growing” time to yield His fruit?

“That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither – whatever they do prospers” (Psalm 1:3 NIV).

“You made me; You created me. Now give me the sense to follow Your commands” (Psalm 119:73 NLT).

“Lord, grow me into a child of God. My desire is to be a righteous woman of God bringing fruit each season and to radiantly display the good You planned for me long ago.”
