“Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.” Luke 12:7

Wave Watching

Have you ever sat and watched the waves on the beach? I love watching them come to crash on the land one right after the other. The best feature about waves is that none are the same. Some break on the shore, some splash on a rock and others roll over it, some form so far out and come in, some make their entrance on land loudly, and others gently ease up the beach.

Their differences are what makes them mesmerizing. It’s never the same scene because each wave is different.

How many times do we look at another person and compare ourselves to them, to their lives, to their looks, their personality? When will we see that our differences make us mesmerizing? Let’s recognize that God made us as uniquely different as He made each wave that comes ashore. You are loved for your differences and you are mesmerizing to the One who created you, and to those around you!

As the saying goes, “You were born an original; don’t die a copy.” Let’s stop comparing ourselves to someone else and love the unique way God made you. Your life is a beautiful scene to God, that He just can’t stop watching. You are loved.

“Thank You, Lord, that You made us each different! Help us focus on the beautiful gift that is, and stop comparing ourselves to others around us. Thank You for the mesmerizing differences of our stories and lives. Amen.”
