“His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.’” Matthew 25:21

What Does God Value?

I was thinking of this question today. What does God value? I then began to think about the statement we long to hear the moment we pass from this life into eternity: “Well done, good and faithful servant…” What do we have to do to hear these precious words? We must be faithful over a few things. So I made a list of a few things:

When someone hurts me or those I love—forgive and continue to be faithful. Luke 17:4

When I have sinned—repent and continue to be faithful. Luke 15:10

When I am happy—rejoice and continue to be faithful. Luke 10:20

When my loved one or I am sick—pray for healing and continue to be faithful. James 5:14

When I am in the valley—look up and continue to be faithful. Psalm 121

When I am on the mountain top—praise Him and continue to be faithful. Isaiah 42:10-13

When I don’t feel like going to church—go any way and continue to be faithful. Hebrews 10:24-25

We don’t have to be perfect people, just faithful people. Feelings and circumstances come and go, but if we continue to be faithful to God in spite of the feelings and circumstances, we will hear the most precious words: “Well done” and “enter the joy of your Lord.”

“Precious Jesus, please give us the strength to be faithful to You in all the little things of this life because You value forgiveness, repentance, rejoicing, praying, praising, and assembling of the body. To You we live this day. Amen.”
