“But the path of the just is like the shining sun, that shines ever brighter unto the perfect day. The way of the wicked is like darkness; they do not know what makes them stumble.” Proverbs 4:18-19
A Well-Lit Path
A Mini Devotional
My husband and I were walking along a narrow path on an ocean cliff. The way was strewn with small sticks, pebbles, and shells, and we were barefoot, so we placed our feet carefully. I stayed close behind my husband in case I slipped or stumbled.
When we rounded a bend, I realized I could no longer see well—my husband cast a shadow on the path. I had to step back from following so closely so that the sun could shine on my path, too. I needed my own light source to walk safely.
What a great spiritual application this has. When we follow people too closely, we may be walking in darkness at every bend in life’s road. We could stumble, and never see it coming.
We each need our own Light. We need the Son shining brightly on our own path to show us the way. We each need our own relationship with Him.
“Jesus, You are that shining Son. Light our way. Amen.”
Good inspiration application
Beautiful.
Thank you. An eye opener.
