“But how can they call on Him to save them unless they believe in Him? And how can they believe in Him if they have never heard about Him? And how can they hear about Him unless someone tells them? And how will anyone go and tell them without being sent? That is why the Scriptures say, ‘How beautiful are the feet of messengers who bring good news!’” Romans 10:13-15
Fresh Espresso
I did not know what I was missing until I had it! Each morning I would drink coffee from my coffee maker. But one day, my neighbor brought me an espresso maker. It was a basic model, and she was giving it away because she had purchased a fancier model. So my husband and I watched a video online to learn how to use our new gadget. We followed the steps and made our first latte (the machine had a foamer on the side!) and drank it together. WOW! This was delicious! It was so much better than regular coffee! Every morning since, we have enjoyed fresh homemade espresso.
I was so excited about this change in my life that I have told my friends all about it. “Do you have an espresso maker?” I might ask, and then share my experience with it. If they don’t have an espresso maker, I share with them how mine has changed my life. When people come to our house, my husband offers them an espresso drink. We are so eager to share, because we are so happy!
If my husband and I are so fired up to share a simple thing like this with everyone we know, how much more excited should we be to tell people about Jesus?
“Have you heard about Jesus?”
“Do you understand salvation?”
It doesn’t have to be a complicated explanation. It can be as simple as, “For this is how God loved the world: He gave His one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16).
Many years ago, I had been given a complicated, expensive espresso maker, but just looking at it overwhelmed me, so I never learned how to use it and eventually got rid of it. With the simple model, I was able to learn the basics, and now that I am comfortable with the basic skills, I can build upon my knowledge if I so choose.
Also, I could have gone to the store and found my own espresso maker. But I didn’t do that. It wasn’t until my neighbor shared hers with me that I actually learned how to use it.
You don’t have to understand more than the basic gospel to enthusiastically share it with others. If it has changed your life, wouldn’t you want to tell everyone?
“Dear Lord Jesus, Your salvation makes us so happy that we can’t help but tell everyone! Please tell us a specific person to share the gospel with today. Amen.”
Thank you for the encouragement! So true!, Just share your heart!
Amen dear sister!
Baby steps. It’s all in the message. It’s not complicated. A glorious message. Praise Jesus. AMEN
