“For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.” John 3:17
Saved
A Mini Devotional
My daughter was recently in a car accident in which her car was totaled. She was rear-ended by a car that had been rear-ended by another car. When I asked if she’d been injured, she said, “No, the car saved us.”
I knew that it wasn’t the car that had saved her, but the mighty hand of God. However, I opted not to mention it, as it would have precipitated an argument that is un-winnable when minds are stuck in deception.
However, it did give me a clear parable of a spiritual lesson. Her car took the impact, the full force of opposition, which saved her life. Likewise, Jesus took the full impact of our sins on Himself, and thus saved us from taking the impact ourselves. The impact totaled Him, but it saved us from eternal death!
“Thank You, Jesus, for taking the full impact of our sins, which would have killed us. You saved our lives! With grateful hearts, we say AMEN.”
Great analogy and the incredibly high price of our salvation; all because of Love.
Thank you Jesus!
Amen
