“All nations whom You have made shall come and worship before You and shall glorify Your Name.” Psalm 86:9
Sharing in His Glory
Recently I’ve had the opportunity to take a Perspectives class about missions. It’s fascinating learning about all of the different people groups and cultures that have never had the opportunity to hear the Good News about Jesus. I’ve enjoyed hearing from the different speakers who have stepped up to their call in faith and have gone to these places when God called. I have loved hearing about the miracles, their hard faith lessons, and the amazing love God has for all peoples as He unfolds His plan and they respond.
First it makes me realize in depth the great blessing our country has because of the faith of our forefathers.
Second, I see our continued need to pray for our nation and to speak up to share the truth of the gospel in love—even in our country some have never heard the true gospel and love of Jesus by His death on the cross that provides forgiveness and grace for our sins.
Third, it stimulates in me a desire to GO and step out in God’s call for me to participate in the Name of Jesus being glorified in other nations, and to come alongside by supporting brothers and sisters in Christ in countries where many other religions are dominant and the people haven’t heard.
I’ve been blessed to get a glimpse of God’s magnificent love expressed in different ways and cultures by going on several short-term mission trips. I love seeing heartfelt love for Jesus expressed in their native cultures and also have been blessed to participate in ministry with them. If God opens the door, I will go again. I’m always open to this life-changing adventure.
My encouragement to others is not to let fear or allow obligations here stop you from stepping out to this blessed faith-stretching adventure. Words cannot express the overwhelming gift God is working in these peoples’ lives far from our normal experiences. For the short couple of weeks you are ministering, your time and all of your efforts are focused on God’s will. You have to depend on Him. You are not subject to the normal daily distractions. In His Name we GO.
“All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. GO, therefore, and make disciples of nations; baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit; teaching them to observe all things I have commanded to you; and lo, I am with you always—even to the end of age. Amen.” Matthew 28:18-20
No matter your age, you gain far more than you give—and you give plenty. Dying to yourselves and experiencing how God meets you there is one of the huge benefits. So be blessed in whatever and wherever you are called—and do not fear—He is with you.
“Father, Your Word says that the fields are ripe for the harvest and how will they hear unless we are willing to go. May we hear Your voice clearly if it’s your will, and obey. In Jesus Name, Amen.”
Thank you for sharing! Very encouraging.
