True Treasure<\/strong><\/h2>\n

\u201cNow we have this treasure in clay jars, so that this extraordinary power may be from God and not from us.\u201d <\/em>2 Corinthians 4:7 CSB<\/p>\n

What do I treasure most in life? I love my husband, family (especially granddaughter), friends and pets. Also, I have heirlooms passed on from parents and other relatives\u2014even though I love the precious memories they hold, they have turned to clutter. Yet even in all these, my biggest, most important treasure is my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.<\/p>\n

He rescued and forgave me and gave a new purpose in life with Him many years ago. The Holy Spirit continues to fill, lead and guide, also correcting and sustaining every area of life including my treasured family and friends. I\u2019m truly blessed.<\/p>\n

As the years continue to roll, I see God\u2019s obvious hand throughout, in the things I\u2019ve committed to Him, and the not-so-good mistakes I\u2019ve made. He has used all for good. Experiencing health issues in my spouse and myself, I realize this body is a frail, clay jar. I\u2019ve heard it said: the more cracks in a broken pot, the more the treasure or \u201clight\u201d inside shines through. That\u2019s good news! Whether our vessel is broken emotionally or physically, His light is shining, reaching others by His healing love and grace in unseen ways we can\u2019t comprehend.<\/p>\n

2 Corinthians 4:17-18 (CSB) says, \u201cFor our momentary light affliction is producing for us an absolutely incomparable eternal weight of glory. So we do not focus on what is seen, but what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.\u201d\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

It isn\u2019t about me or us, but Jesus, for His glory. \u201cFor where your treasure is, there your heart will be also\u201d <\/em>(Luke 12:34).<\/p>\n

Where\u2019s your treasure? Fears, worries, self-agendas, and the needs of others can clutter our minds and hearts. Although these are, and represent, important things, unless He is our most important treasure, all else is in vain (see Philippians 2:16 and 3:7-8).<\/p>\n

We have the most valuable and precious treasure in the whole universe inside of us when Jesus is our Lord. This reality makes it all worth it.<\/p>\n

\u201cAgain, the kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and hid; and for joy over it he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field\u201d <\/em>(Matthew 13:44).<\/p>\n

No matter what you\u2019re going through, know you have a glorious treasure inside of you and He flavors and touches all of life\u2019s other treasures and values. And know that you are His treasure even more. You were bought with the most expensive price, Jesus\u2019 blood (1 Corinthians 7:23).<\/p>\n

Dear Lord, thank You that Your very Spirit lives inside of us loving, motivating, instructing, and correcting every area of our lives. You are our most important treasure. Even bigger is that You treasure each one of us. I\u2019m overwhelmed. In Jesus\u2019 Name, amen.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>
