Our Hour of Need<\/strong><\/h2>\n

“I have made you and I will carry you. I will sustain you and I will rescue you.”<\/em>\u00a0Isaiah 46:4<\/p>\n

My thanks to all of you for your prayers during this time.\u00a0I can’t tell you how many times in my low moments, when I knew you’d be praying for me, that it helped carry me through. I knew I wasn’t alone. You were walking beside me and lifting my weary arms in prayer. I’m so grateful for that.<\/p>\n

I’m still recovering, so please keep praying.\u00a0They told me that I would have an equal number of recovery days to the number of treatment days\u2014and they were right!\u00a0The recovery has been rough! I am beginning to see some light at the end of the tunnel. I’m praying that that light keeps shining brightly!!<\/p>\n

During these long days, there were three thoughts that stayed firmly and clearly in my heart and mind. The first is “carrying.” I don’t know how to describe it\u2014but I was so aware that I was being carried\u2014by all of you praying…and even more so by the Lord. I could almost feel your presence, and the Lord’s presence, with me, knowing I was being carried.<\/p>\n

“I have made you and I will carry you. I will sustain you and I will rescue you”<\/em>\u00a0(Isaiah 46:4).<\/p>\n

The second thought was being sheltered by the wings of the Lord. About 4\u00bd years ago I shared a photo of a momma bird sheltering her two young ones under her wings. This picture came back into my mind one night in the hospital. I vividly sensed the shelter of the Lord’s wings!<\/p>\n

“I will say of the Lord, ‘He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.’ Surely He will save you from the fowler’s snare and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you will find refuge; His faithfulness will be your shield and rampart”<\/em> (Psalm 91:2-4).<\/p>\n

The third word was “peace.” In the midst of a lot of chaos, I felt an overwhelming sense of peace.\u00a0A peace that nothing\/no one can give but the Lord.\u00a0A peace that passes understanding.\u00a0A peace that closed off the world around me, and tucked me into those protective wings of love and care.<\/p>\n

“The peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus”<\/em>\u00a0(Psalm 34:14).<\/p>\n

Again and again I’ve been encouraged by these words\u2014been ministered to by God’s love and care. He is so faithful, and knows just what we need.<\/p>\n

Father, thank You for giving Sally these three words of help and comfort in her greatest need. Thank You for her example to us. May we remember these things in our hour of need. Amen.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>
