He Is Close By<\/strong><\/h2>\n

“Look up into the heavens.\u00a0Who created all the stars? He brings them out like an army, one after another, calling each by its name.”<\/em> Isaiah 40:26<\/p>\n

I’ve had some rough days recently. The complications from my cancer have gotten worse.\u00a0My doctor and the team of experts she consults with have spent time going over my case, and looking at every possibility of treatment\u2014most of which either aren’t possible or won’t work. We have collectively decided on radiology therapy, which started May 2. Pray for the complications to subside, and for all the financial needs associated with this treatment to be met.<\/p>\n

I recently went outside one evening to watch the International Space Station fly overhead.\u00a0It was quite amazing. It moved so fast, but was visible for six minutes.\u00a0I also loved seeing all the stars\u2014millions of them shining so brightly.\u00a0The planet Jupiter was incredibly bright and seemed so close.<\/p>\n

As I observed all this, I felt the Lord comforting my heart that heaven is so close by\u2014He is so close by!<\/strong>\u00a0It was a beautiful reassurance of God’s presence and closeness.<\/p>\n

“Praise Him, sun and moon; Praise Him, all stars of light!\u00a0Praise Him, highest heavens\u201d <\/em>(Psalm 148:3,4).<\/p>\n

“He counts the number of the stars; He gives names to all of them.\u00a0Great is our Lord and abundant in strength; His understanding is infinite\u201d<\/em> (Psalm 147:4,5).<\/p>\n

The One who knows the stars by name also knows every detail of our lives.\u00a0He is\u00a0with us<\/strong>\u00a0and He is\u00a0for us<\/strong>.\u00a0He is always working for good in the things we face.\u00a0He is with us each and every day.\u00a0He is so faithful!<\/p>\n

Father, we pray again for Sally\u2019s healing, whether\u2014as she said in her prayers for Floyd\u2014here, or in heaven. Strengthen her as she faces another round of treatment. Provide for her every need, which You know so well. Give her the wisdom she needs as she makes decisions on the next steps in this process. Above all, may she always know that You are near, and You are good. In Jesus\u2019 name, amen.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>
