He Rescues<\/strong><\/h2>\n

\u201cFor indeed he was sick almost unto death; but God had mercy on him, and not only on him but on me also, lest I should have sorrow upon sorrow.\u201d Philippians 2:27<\/em><\/p>\n

Years ago, the Lord gave me this Scripture during one of the most difficult periods in my life. My young teenage son had become involved in drugs and he slowly went from being a good student and a healthy, gifted athlete very involved in sports to a student not interested in school or sports. I was such a na\u00efve mother, unaware of the early signs of what this all meant. My prayers became more confused in nature as all of this unfolded in our lives.<\/p>\n

As a divorced woman, and into my second marriage, I was trying to hold everything together. This is impossible without the Lord and even as a daughter of the King, it was affecting my health spiritually, physically, mentally, and emotionally.<\/p>\n

Many scriptures comforted me, but my hopes and dreams for this child of mine had been shattered and it was becoming harder and harder for me to know what to do.<\/p>\n

Philippians 4:13 (\u201cI can do all things through Christ who strengthens me\u201d)<\/em> became my song.<\/p>\n

The Lord worked it out for my son to be admitted to a rehab facility in another state.<\/p>\n

As I was driving to one of the \u201cFamily Days\u201d to be with him for a counseling session, I was so distraught with fears, hopelessness, and complete despair that I was literally shouting out to the Lord for help. (Must have looked pretty creepy for anyone driving by me.) The day was gloomy and rainy, and dark clouds filled the skies. This was actually the perfect weather for my own miserable state.<\/p>\n

But God\u2026\u201cBUT GOD!\u201d Do you know what He did for me? He parted the clouds all over the land and all of a sudden there were rainbows throughout the valley in which I was traveling. And He gave me promises for my son by those signs of hope and beauty surrounding me. He does hear our cries and He cares for us and those we love.<\/p>\n

I was so overwhelmed by the beauty and glory that He surrounded me with that I had to pull over to the side of the road and be still. This is when He gave me the Scripture above. The enemy had filled my mind and heart with the fear of death and hopelessness, but my Good Shepherd rescued me and gave me hope.<\/p>\n

We are never to give up turning to Him\u2014praying for His perfect will in our loved ones\u2019 lives. He is forever faithful.<\/p>\n

Dear Lord, thank You that You have continued to give me hope through the years. Life is precious to You\u2014even more than to me. I thank You for Your care, love, and Your faithfulness to us. You are good\u2026You are good\u2026all the time. Amen.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>
