Struggling to Cross Over<\/strong><\/h2>\n

\u00a0<\/em>\u201cBear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.”<\/em>\u00a0Galatians 6:2<\/p>\n

I recently saw a video clip of a family of elephants crossing a small river.\u00a0There was a very young elephant among them, and it was struggling to cross. It kept being swept away by the rapidly moving current.\u00a0The mother elephant was right with the baby trying to help it along. Every time she seemed to make progress, the strong current of the river defeated her.<\/p>\n

Then the most wonderful thing happened.\u00a0Most of the elephants had already crossed the river before they realized what was happening with the baby. They all turned around and came back to help.\u00a0One particularly large elephant came to help the mother.\u00a0Between them they managed to protect the baby with their big legs and push it along to the other side.<\/p>\n

I watched the video several times. What struck me was how they looked out for each other. Even though most of them had made it across to safety, they didn’t hesitate to turn around and get back in the river to help the mother and baby in need.<\/p>\n

I had the thought that this is what you are to me.\u00a0I’m like that baby elephant.\u00a0When I’m “floundering” in the river I can call out and ask you to pray for me.\u00a0I’m so grateful for that! I know I can call for help whenever I need it.\u00a0Time and time again you have rallied and prayed for me. Thank you!<\/p>\n

When I asked for prayer for my weakness recently and for prayers for the fires in our area, you rose to the call and interceded.\u00a0I got so many lovely messages of support and prayer.\u00a0This is how it should be for all of us in the Body of Christ.\u00a0My situation was just one small example. Through Floyd’s five-plus years of illness, I sensed your prayer support too.\u00a0I’m so grateful.\u00a0I haven’t felt alone because I’ve known people were praying for me\/us all around the world.<\/p>\n

“With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people”\u00a0<\/em>(Ephesians 6:18).<\/p>\n

I could never have made it through the raging rivers the last few years on my own\u2014even the recent days.\u00a0Thank you for your prayers!\u00a0You have truly carried me along.<\/p>\n

Father, bring to mind those that need prayer, and help us be alert to the needs around us. Amen.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>
