\u201cThe hand of the\u00a0Lord\u00a0came upon me and brought me out in the Spirit of the\u00a0Lord, and set me down in the midst of the valley; and it\u00a0was\u00a0full of bones.\u00a0Then He caused me to pass by them all around, and behold,\u00a0there were\u00a0very many in the open valley; and indeed\u00a0they were\u00a0very dry.\u201d<\/em>\u00a0Ezekiel 37:1-2<\/p>\n

Dried Up\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Have you ever had, or are you in, a season where you just felt dried up? More than because of the Redding heat! But dried up physically, emotionally, spiritually, to the point where you just survived from day to day but didn\u2019t feel like you were actually living? I know I have!<\/p>\n

And if you\u2019re in that season right now, I know it can be easy to picture to yourself as that character Dry Bones from the old Nintendo Mario Brothers game, who gets stomped on and crumbles to the floor in a pile of bones, and then shakes and gets back up.<\/p>\n

Instead, let\u2019s picture ourselves from Ezekiel 37.<\/p>\n

A valley of dry bones, very dry bones, but they are God\u2019s people. You, sweet sister, are one of God\u2019s people. And in that valley of dry bones, He puts breath into you, He puts new skin and flesh on you, He puts you back together bone by bone, He puts strength back into you and tells you to come out of your grave.<\/p>\n

But because He doesn\u2019t want you to just be put back together enough to survive the day, He puts HIS Spirit in you for you to be ALIVE. You are no longer a dry bone but are made anew with the living Spirit of God breathing in you, holding you together, strengthening you, placing you in the land amongst the people He wants you to be, so that you can show this dead and dying world what it means to be truly alive in Christ. You are no longer a dry bone\u2014the Lord calls you out of the grave, to come alive;\u00a0\u201c…Then you shall know that I, the\u00a0Lord, have spoken\u00a0it\u00a0and performed\u00a0it…\u201d\u00a0<\/i>(Ezekiel 37:14).<\/p>\n

Father, engrave this in our hearts and minds today. Fill us with new life, in Your name, so that we are no longer dry bones but ALIVE, because of your love for US. You have called us out of our graves to live and walk in Your Spirit, and we thank You that You do that for us. To You be the glory. Amen.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>
