Being Happy<\/strong><\/h2>\n

When I was watching the memorial tribute honoring Floyd by YWAM Amsterdam,*, someone remarked that it was 50 years ago that we first started the house in Kabul, Afghanistan for the hippies\/world travelers.\u00a0I hadn’t counted up the years!\u00a0It was a long time ago, but the memories are fresh.\u00a0I’m so grateful for all the adventures we had.<\/p>\n

Another wonderful tribute was done by Living Hope Church in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada.\u00a0Bob Leach pastored the church for many years.\u00a0They dedicated the Sunday service on May 30 to Floyd. Bob shared his testimony of coming to Jesus in the house in Kabul. It was powerful and moving.\u00a0He and Jason both shared lessons learned from Floyd.\u00a0Then they showed a clip from a 1973 interview with Floyd in Kabul that was done by CBS television**. I’d never seen it!\u00a0It was fun to see and hear Floyd from all those years ago.<\/p>\n

All the comments, tributes, etc. that I’m receiving are so special.\u00a0If you come across articles or tributes\u2014can you please pass them on?\u00a0We are compiling them for our family and for All Nations.<\/p>\n

Please continue praying for our\u00a0family.\u00a0Although\u00a0Floyd had been sick for a long time and we knew God might take him home at any time, the “final” home-going came as an emotional jolt to all our hearts. I don’t think you can ever be fully prepared.<\/p>\n

I have been having some physical difficulties.\u00a0It seems as if the good impact from the recent surgery is being reversed. I continue to pray for healing!\u00a0Please pray with me.<\/p>\n

Some of you may have seen in the news the story of a young woman who was recently on a TV talent show.\u00a0She sang a song she’d written that was about her journey with very serious cancer, called “It’s Okay.”\u00a0She shared that she only has a 2% chance of survival, but that that’s better than zero percent.\u00a0She had such a wonderful, glowing outlook on the trial she’s been through.\u00a0One of her final statements really touched me: “You can’t wait until life isn’t hard to be happy!”<\/p>\n

I have been thinking a lot about that statement. I realized that in the midst of our 5+ unexpected journey years, although it’s been very hard, by God’s grace there has been happiness too.\u00a0The love and support of our family, the care from dear friends, the beauty around me, the prayers of those of you around the world, the sense of being carried by the Lord\u2014so many things have brought happiness and joy.\u00a0I’m so grateful for that!\u00a0I think when we walk with the Lord, He’ll always bring His joy, His peace, and His happiness into the hardest trial.\u00a0He is so good, kind, and faithful!<\/p>\n

I came across this photo of Floyd, taken shortly before he became sick.\u00a0 This is how I will always remember him!<\/p>\n
