Moment By Moment<\/strong><\/h2>\n

We’ve had a big fire here in Cape Town on Table Mountain.\u00a0You may have seen it on the news as it made international headlines.\u00a0It’s still uncertain how it started Sunday morning\u2014it may have been an unattended vagrant fire, or it may have been arson.\u00a0It spread very quickly because of things being so dry and the humidity level being low.\u00a0In no time at all, it was raging out of control.\u00a0Firemen were brought in from around the area, water-dropping helicopters were working furiously, and people on the ground were spraying water where possible.\u00a0The fire raged for two days, and they are still putting out hotspots.<\/p>\n

Thankfully there was no loss of life, and only a few injuries.\u00a0But several buildings were burned on the UCT campus including the library, which lost many priceless documents. Some homes were lost.\u00a0An iconic windmill from 1796 was destroyed. Thousands had to be evacuated.\u00a0People have pulled together to help one another.<\/p>\n

As I followed the news and watched everything unfold, it reminded me yet again that our lives can change in an instant.\u00a0When we’re going through a hard time, we often ask the Lord for grace and strength for the “big picture” of what we’re facing. We need that.\u00a0But we have no idea of what will happen that we can’t see.\u00a0I’ve come to realize more and more that I need “moment-by-moment” grace and strength. There are so many variables that come along that I had no idea about\u2014some big, unexpected “fires.”\u00a0I couldn’t make it without His sufficient provision for the moment.\u00a0It keeps me close to Him as I rely on that step-by-step help.\u00a0I’m so very grateful that He’s with me on every twist and turn of the journey…especially the unexpected ones.<\/p>\n

Our unexpected journey has been long, but God’s faithful moment-by-moment grace has carried me through.\u00a0 He has never failed me!<\/p>\n

Someone shared a song with me to pass on to Floyd.\u00a0 I have also been listening to it over and over, worshipping with it. The acapella harmony is beautiful, and the words make me lift my hands in worship to the Lord.\u00a0It’s by “We are Emmanuel” from Emmanuel Church in Brighton, England.\u00a0“O Praise the Name”* of the Lord our God\u2014now and for all eternity.\u00a0I envision us lifting our hands in worship to Him as we listen to this song\u2014all over the world!\u00a0He is worthy!<\/p>\n
