The word <em>day <\/em>and\u00a0references to <em>morning<\/em>, <em>night<\/em> and <em>years<\/em> is used repeatedly in the Bible, so much so that I\u2019ve mulled it over for a while and looked into it a little more. This Psalm, written by Moses as the Israelites were coming to the end of their 40-year wander through the desert, is a prayer to draw attention to how quickly life passes and the wrath of God.<\/p>\n<p>How do we spend our days? Do we live as if we have all the time in the world? Do we live as if God doesn\u2019t see our secret sins? Do we waste time? Do we live for the here and now? Do we live to please ourselves with no regard for others?<\/p>\n<p>There is another day that is coming.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cBut the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything done in it will be laid bare. Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be?
