\u201cBlessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved.\u201d Ephesians 1:3-6 NKJV<\/em><\/p>\n

C is for Chosen<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Chosen<\/strong>\u2014selected from several; preferred, elect<\/em><\/p>\n

When I was in elementary and middle school and it came time to pick teams for PE, the team captain rarely chose me. He or she got me on the team because I was the last one standing and it was their turn to pick. I didn\u2019t have a lot of hand-eye co-ordination due to the circumstances with my eyes, but all that didn\u2019t matter to the one doing the choosing. I hated PE. It was the most difficult part of the day. I couldn\u2019t get any better because no one threw, passed or kicked the ball to me, perpetuating the not-being-chosen the next day.<\/p>\n

But God!\u00a0<\/em>Isn\u2019t it wonderful to read the above passage and know that God chose you, chose me before the foundation of the world? Before God said, \u201cLet there be light<\/em>,\u201d He chose us. He chose us knowing what we would look like, what we would do, what made us happy, what we needed, what sins we would commit, if we accepted His Son Jesus\u2014and all before He set it in motion. He chose us for a specific purpose:<\/p>\n

\u201cBut you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light\u201d\u00a0<\/em>(1 Peter 2:9 NKJV).<\/p>\n

You are, I am, chosen\u00a0<\/strong>that we may proclaim the praises of God! Let us live today doing just that.<\/p>\n

Heavenly Father, thank You that You chose us before time began so that we may proclaim Your praises. May we keep our eyes on You today, lifting a song of praise.\u00a0 Amen.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>
