Another Lesson From the Castle<\/strong><\/h2>\n

I recently wrote about visiting the Hearst Castle. William Randolph Hearst at one time owned about 250,000 acres along the coast and hills of the San Simeon area. Currently it is about 80,000 acres and an agreement was made in 2005 to preserve the undeveloped character of the area. After seeing the views and beautiful landscape there, I\u2019m glad that the agreement was made. The castle and the surrounding area is part of the Hearst family legacy and it got me thinking about my own legacy.<\/p>\n

Legacy: a gift of property, especially personal property, as money, by will; a bequest\/anything handed down from the past, as from an ancestor or predecessor.<\/p>\n

My family isn\u2019t famous or extremely wealthy. We live comfortably with our needs met and my husband and I have our affairs in order with a family trust so our children are set up with the earthly things; however, I want to leave a legacy that is greater than this.<\/p>\n

The song Only Jesus\u00a0<\/em>from Casting Crowns says all my heart wants for my children and their children.<\/p>\n

Make it count, leave a mark, build a name for yourself
\nDream your dreams, chase your heart, above all else
\nMake a name the world remembers
\nBut all an empty world can sell is empty dreams
\nI got lost in the light when it was up to me
\nTo make a name the world remembers
\nBut Jesus is the only name to remember<\/em><\/p>\n

\nI don\u2019t care if they remember me
\nOnly Jesus
