It&#8217;s by David E. Fitch from &#8220;Faithful Presence.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The hospital room is a sacred space where God in Christ becomes present.\u00a0They lie there open to everything and anything God would do in and around them and are often ready to submit everything to God.\u00a0This makes them closer to God and His kingdom then even those that visit them.\u00a0The best thing we can do is be present.\u00a0Tend to what God is doing.\u00a0Tend to the presence of our Lord in this place.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Floyd lies there unable to move\u2014but I know his heart is open to God.\u00a0I often wonder what God is up to.\u00a0And there are so many times when I don&#8217;t know what to do except to be there with him\u2014looking to God for His sovereign will be to be done. I love how David Fitch expressed it.<\/p>\n<p>A dear, young couple that we have mentored is leaving to work in another country.\u00a0When they went to say goodbye to Floyd, there were many tears all around. They thanked him for his input into their lives, and asked him to pray for them in this new step. I know his heart would have been blessed to see them stepping out into new challenges.\u00a0The &#8220;fruit&#8221; of his life and ministry continues on while he lies there.<\/p>\n<p>Someone sent me this photo of a cross and snow. It was a vivid picture of how the cross does battle for us in the storm, protecting us from whatever is being thrown at us.\u00a0Thank You, Jesus, for the cross, and for Your protection!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>\u201cThank You, Lord, for Your protection and help in the \u2018storms\u2019 that have come our way.
