\u201cGod is our refuge and strength; a very present help in time of trouble.\u201d <\/em>Psalm 46:1<\/p>\n

You Are Here<\/strong><\/h2>\n

This week I\u2019ve felt like I\u2019m groping about, trying to abide in my faith and hope. Weird dreams have plagued my sleep and I\u2019m anxious. Yet opening the Word to Psalm 46, the LORD assures me of HIS constant presence, involvement, sovereignty, and faithful consistency. Even when I\u2019m loosely faithful, He\u2019s faithful. He\u2019s the definition of faithful!<\/p>\n

This verse goes on to say, \u201cTherefore, I will not fear, even though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea…\u201d <\/em>(vs. 2-3). Regardless of what circumstance I\u2019m living through, Jesus is the LIGHT and He is calling me to focus on Him, His hope of blessing, His hope of healing, His hope of purity, and His hope of heaven. Keeping my eyes focused on Him, even with all kinds of good and bad distractions, He is truth and my reality.<\/p>\n

Resting in this, I\u2019m free to pray and worship with thankfulness and restoration. Yes, even in my restlessness, He is my rest and peace.<\/p>\n

I\u2019m praying to encourage others with these words, because the devil and our flesh are determined to distract our faith. Look for the faithful LIGHT that is consistent and never quits. He never quits calling us closer and He never quits loving. He is faithful and ever present in times of trouble.<\/p>\n

At the end of this Psalm are the sometimes uncomfortable words to be still. \u201cBe still and know\u00a0<\/strong>I am GOD! I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth, for the LORD of hosts is with us; The God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah\u201d <\/em>(Ps. 46:10-11). That\u2019s hard for me when things are raging all around and I could easily put in my two cents\u2019 worth and solve the problem (right?), but my GOD tells me to \u201cbe still and know He is GOD.\u201d\u00a0<\/em>He has this in His hands\u2014let\u2019s wait for His outcome and timing. His promise is that HE will be exalted! And He is our refuge! Our rest.<\/p>\n

He is the definition of faithful, and He is here.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou are here, LORD, always faithful and always consistent, no matter what my \u201cgroping\u201d consists of. I can worship You in knowing You are always present and in control. We can be still and know You are our God! Amen.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>
