The Noise of Our Enemy<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Laying in bed last night, I suddenly heard loud booms.\u00a0At first I thought it was thunder.\u00a0Then I began to wonder if a war had broken out.\u00a0The booms were so loud, and I could see some lights\/flares in the sky.\u00a0Within a few minutes, our neighborhood \u201cwhatsapp\u201d group clarified that it was the military doing some exercises nearby.\u00a0I was relieved.<\/p>\n

As I thought about what was happening, I began to think about the fact that there is “warfare” happening around us all the time.\u00a0We just can’t hear it or see it.\u00a0The enemy of our soul is seeking to destroy us continually.\u00a0He is especially seeking to undermine our faith and confidence in our wonderful Lord.<\/p>\n

There have been times on our unexpected journey when I’ve sensed the whispers of the enemy.\u00a0Times when he’s tried to get me to believe that God doesn’t care\u2014that God has left me all alone on this journey\u2014that it’s “too much” for me to cope with\u2014that the journey will never end\u2014or that I’ll just slowly wear down under the onslaught.\u00a0There IS warfare, a tug-of-war between good and evil that takes place around us.\u00a0We just can’t hear the “booms” of it taking place.<\/p>\n

When I sense and hear these diabolical whispers, I know how important it is to stand against them.\u00a0If I let my mind entertain even one little bit of them, it opens the door for the enemy to bring separation between God and me.\u00a0I have to counteract them immediately.<\/p>\n

I do that through worship.\u00a0I speak the truth of who God is.\u00a0I thank Him for His goodness and faithfulness.\u00a0I sing songs of praise. I speak out verses of scripture about God’s awesomeness.\u00a0I tell the enemy that he’s a liar, and I don’t receive any of his accusations.\u00a0I take authority over him in the Name of Jesus.<\/p>\n

When the “booms” of spiritual warfare come my way, I know the “weapon” I have at my disposal: proclaiming the wonderful goodness and faithfulness of the Lord.\u00a0He is truly good all the time!<\/p>\n

\u201cFather, thank You for giving us spiritual weapons so we can stand against the enemy of our soul. Train us to use the weapons effectively, that we may take authority over him in the Name of Jesus! Amen.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>
