Waltz of Love<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Floyd and I always wished we could dance! We both grew up in a tradition where it wasn’t allowed. I think we felt inhibited after that.\u00a0When someone sent me a video clip recently called the “Waltz of Love,” it struck a cord in my heart.\u00a0I found it very moving\u2014and very expressive of feelings and words that are in my heart.<\/p>\n

The beautiful dancing of the Queensland Ballet, the “dancing” of the swans, the poem “We Danced Through Life”\u2014all touched tender emotions in my heart and reminded me of my conversations with Floyd.\u00a0When the swans “skip” along the water\u2014it reminds me of the joy of life that I’ve had with Floyd.\u00a0I love the swan couple!\u00a0They somehow remind me of Floyd and me.<\/p>\n

We’ve had good times together, and we’ve had hard times together, but the most important thing is that we’ve been\u00a0together<\/u>!\u00a0We’ve had times when we didn’t know where our next meal was coming from, and we’ve had times when we’ve eaten in nice restaurants.\u00a0We’ve had times when we had to sleep in our car, and we’ve had times when we’ve slept in comfort and luxury.\u00a0We’ve had times when we couldn’t even afford a tube of toothpaste (baking soda works!), and we’ve had times when we could easily afford our toiletries. Our life together has had lots of ups and downs, but it’s been a wonderful life.\u00a0I wouldn’t trade it for anything.<\/p>\n

I thought about trying to write a poem, but the words of this poem are so powerful and poignant that I couldn’t improve on them.\u00a0They express what I’m thinking and feeling.<\/p>\n

In the current season, the “rhythm” has changed, the “tempo slowed”\u2014but we are dancing with the “seeds that we sowed.”\u00a0There’s no doubt that life is sometimes hard, “but dancing through it is what life’s about.” In a unique way, we’re still dancing.\u00a0God is still with us.\u00a0He’s been good to us.\u00a0We’ve had a great life together.\u00a0I thank Him, and treasure the journey I’ve had with Floyd. I wanted to share this with you in thinking of my dear husband last week on Valentine’s Day.\u00a0Maybe he and I will dance together in heaven.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/em>“Don’t urge me to leave you or to turn back from you.\u00a0Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay. Your people will be my people and your God my God”\u00a0<\/em>(Ruth 1:16). This verse was part of my wedding vows to Floyd. I sometimes joked and told Floyd that I never dreamed what I was committing myself to!\u00a0I never dreamed all the places I’d go in following by his side.<\/p>\n

My heart is full of gratitude to the Lord for the life we’ve had, for the best friend he gave me, and for the love I’ve shared with Floyd.\u00a0Even in the difficulty of our current season, I’m so overwhelmed by God’s goodness.\u00a0Thank you for rejoicing with me, and thank you for your prayers for us each day.\u00a0I hope you enjoy the short video clip.<\/p>\n
