The Fellowship of Believers<\/strong><\/h2>\n

I just wasn\u2019t in that great of a mood one morning\u2014a bit cranky would be more precise. I know I have no real reason to complain; I\u2019m blessed, thank the Lord, but sometimes it\u2019s just harder to put on a smile. Call it hormones or a case of silly self-absorption\u2014that was my day.<\/p>\n

My husband took me out for breakfast, bless his heart, and that was great, but I found myself still lamenting over this and that situation in my life, as I made my way to the restroom. That\u2019s when I heard it. Several stalls down, someone was humming. Hmm\u2026<\/p>\n

Interesting, I thought to myself\u2014odd, really. What was\u00a0<\/em>that tune anyway? It sounded strangely familiar, as I listened intently to the perfect-pitch hummer belt out her melody. So beautiful, I thought, as it echoed off the cavernous restroom walls, and made its way to my open ears.<\/p>\n

All of a sudden, I began to recognize the tune. Yes that was it, that old hymn, \u201cCome, Thou Fount.\u201d* I love that song! It\u2019s ancient and sweet and real, and it speaks to me every time I sing it.<\/p>\n

I said into the air, \u201cThat\u2019s \u2018Come, Thou Fount of Every Blessing,\u2019 right?\u201d The delayed answer, \u201cMmm hmm.\u201d She sounded like a child. And then, she started up the humming once again, so angelically lovely. I couldn\u2019t help myself as I began to join into the song.<\/p>\n

\u201cCome, Thou Fount of every blessing, tune my heart to sing Thy grace; Streams of mercy, never ceasing, call for songs of loudest praise. Teach me some melodious sonnet, sung by flaming tongues above; praise the mount, I\u2019m fixed upon it, mount of Thy redeeming love.\u201d<\/p>\n

Now, I don\u2019t know if anyone else heard the unusual lavatory duet, but it didn\u2019t matter. And I never knew who this young songster was, but she had small feet. That\u2019s all I know. I walked out of the restroom a changed and encouraged person.\u00a0 Why? Because of the fellowship of believers.<\/p>\n

John talks about that fellowship. As we walk in the light as Jesus is in the light, we have fellowship with one another. Anywhere, anytime, day or night, the Lord shines and draws us together to strengthen us and give us hope\u2014even in a restroom.<\/p>\n

\u201cLord, Jesus, help us pull together with the saints wherever they may be found, to glorify You and edify one another. Thank You. Amen!\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n
