I\u2019m sure you\u2019ve seen them. Jesus as a baby in Mary\u2019s arms, Jesus standing at the handleless door knocking, Jesus walking with a flock of sheep carrying a lamb, Jesus kneeling in prayer in the garden of Gethsemane, just to name a few of Warner Sallman\u2019s artwork. These images graced the walls of many of my family members\u2019 homes and many Bible bookmarks as I grew up. While the images spun, I heard that still small voice say, \u201cDo you know what I have done for you?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Yes, Lord. You have:<\/p>\n<p>Made me who I am\u2014Psalm 139<\/p>\n<p>You have stood at the door of my heart\u2014Revelation 3:20<\/p>\n<p>You have prayed for me\u2014John 17:9<\/p>\n<p>You have died for me\u2014John 3:16<\/p>\n<p>You have risen for me\u2014Matthew 28:6<\/p>\n<p>You have comforted me\u20142 Corinthians 1:2-4<\/p>\n<p>You are preparing a place for me\u2014John 14:1-3<\/p>\n<p>You hold me together\u2014Colossians 1:17<\/p>\n<p>You shepherd me\u2014John 10:11<\/p>\n<p>The Good Shepherd is my favorite name for Jesus. I\u2019ve always been partial to Mr. Sallman\u2019s portrait of Jesus carrying the lamb, imagining that I am that lamb. As I mused over the images in my mind, one more came up that wasn\u2019t Warner\u2019s work. I have a print of it hanging on my wall and it sums up all the feelings that come with knowing Jesus as my Savior.<\/p>\n<p>This precious portrait is by Katherine Brown. The look on the lamb\u2019s face shows perfect peace and contentment in the Savior\u2019s arms. May we rest today like that lamb and remember what He has done for us.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-23779\" src=\"http:\/\/www.lccredding.org\/church\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/Jesus-Lamb.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"165\" height=\"206\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>\u201cPrecious Jesus, thank You for all that You have done for us. As our town faces one more day in the aftermath of such terror and displacement, may we remember what You have done for us in the past and rest in what You will do today. I pray for Your perfect peace to rain down on the people of Redding and that you will gently lead them in the way they should go.
