\u201cNow we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.\u201d <\/em>1 Corinthians 13:12<\/p>\n

Face to Face<\/strong><\/h2>\n

It\u2019s been over a year since I have seen my daughter face to face. She lives on the east coast and so it is difficult and costly to get together very often. I do have a \u201cmagic mirror\u201d though. The blessings of technology through FaceTime allow us to see each other and visit whenever we want to. Sometimes we sit and have tea together as we talk about our day. Other times we do laundry or other chores together. Though I am truly thankful for this ability, it is not the same as a face-to-face visit.\u00a0 A FaceTime visit only allows us to know each other in part. Sometimes the image gets distorted or stalls altogether or the sound goes out and I can see lips moving but can\u2019t hear what\u2019s being said. There can be no hug or kiss, or bumping into each other in the kitchen in the \u201cmirror\u201d of a cell phone.<\/p>\n

Our lives with Jesus here on earth are kind of like that FaceTime cell phone visit I have with my daughter. Through prayer, worship, and interaction with the brethren we have a relationship with Him that is a \u201cpoor reflection in a mirror\u201d compared to physically being with the Creator and Savior of our souls.<\/p>\n

Don\u2019t get me wrong. I\u2019m not complaining about any of it. No, I am truly thankful for the \u201ctools\u201d we have to connect with each other and with our Heavenly Father. Here in this life we will only know in part, but oh the day when we will know fully, even as we are fully known! No more separation. No more goodbyes. We will understand all things and there will be no more distortion or miscommunication. Hugs and kisses, laughter, joy, and happiness will abound in that eternal home.<\/p>\n

My daughter is coming home this Christmas. I can hardly wait to wrap my arms around her and kiss her lovely face. I can imagine that our Heavenly Father waits with the same kind of anticipation for our return home as well. Let us not forsake our \u201cFaceTime\u201d visits with Him as we wait for our eternal Face-to-Face one.<\/p>\n

\u201cHeavenly Father, we truly thank You for the blessing of technology that allows us to see our loved ones who can\u2019t be with us physically. It helps us in our relationships with one another. Thank You also for prayer, worship, and the brethren that allow us to have a relationship with You here on earth. May we never forsake the \u201ctools\u201d You have given us. We look forward in anticipation for our time when we will see You face to face and never be apart again. Amen.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>
