\u201cNow when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went home. And in his upper room, with his windows open toward Jerusalem, he knelt down on his knees three times that day, and prayed and gave thanks before his God as was his custom since early days.\u201d<\/em> Daniel 6:10<\/p>\n

And Gave Thanks Before His God<\/strong><\/h2>\n

As I read this scripture, God stopped me in my tracks. Just before this verse we are told that the governors and the satraps were looking to find something in Daniel\u2019s life to take him down. They were jealous of him and wanted him out of their way. The only problem was, they could not find any fault in Daniel\u2019s life. Daniel 6:4 tells us \u201cbut they could find no charge or fault, because he (Daniel) was faithful; nor was there any error or fault found in him.\u201d<\/em> The only way they could think to get rid of Daniel was by trapping him regarding the law of his God. They tricked the king into approving a law that said no one could pray to anyone but the king himself for 30 days. If anyone disobeyed this decree, he would be thrown into the lion\u2019s den to be torn to pieces.<\/p>\n

This is where Daniel 6:10 comes into play. Daniel\u2019s response to this is incredible. This, honestly, is not my first response when trials are before me. My life has never been threatened because of my beliefs and yet I moan, complain, and feel sorry for myself when things get tough\u2014and they do get tough.<\/p>\n

I am going to use Daniel as my example. When trials are hard, when I am heartbroken and exhausted, I will go to my prayer closet, get on my knees and pray and GIVE THANKS TO MY GOD, so that this will become my custom. Can you imagine thanking God that you will be thrown into the lion\u2019s den because you continually pray to Him? This is the relationship I want with MY God; complete trust and reliance in Him, no matter what is before me.<\/p>\n

\u201c\u2026and he knelt down on his knees three times that day, and prayed and gave thanks before his God, as was his custom since early days.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cHeavenly Father, I pray for a Daniel relationship of faith and trust in You. I pray that I would kneel before You, pray, and give You thanks in all circumstances. I want this to be my custom also. In Jesus\u2019 Name, Amen.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>
