Somehow just not quite right. I\u2019ve made some impulsive decisions, with a heart that meant good, but the results were not so much. It has led me to question myself about some things\u2014good things, but are they right things?<\/p>\n<p>Broken isn\u2019t necessarily a bad thing. Scripture tells us, <em>\u201cThe sacrifice you desire is a broken spirit. You will not reject a broken and repentant heart, O God<\/em>\u201d (Psalm 51:17 NLT).<\/p>\n<p>You see, when I yield up my brokenness to the Lord, He doesn\u2019t reject me\u2026 He loves me. He shines light on areas of darkness; He mends my brokenness in ways I could never imagine. It hurts to be mended sometimes\u2014often because there is pruning involved in the mending, but I know pruning is the way we are made ready to bear more fruit, better fruit. It is necessary, though often not pretty.<\/p>\n<p>The key for me is to trust Him. Trust that the work He is doing in me is exactly what needs to be done, no matter what the process might look like. In my battle against my flesh and the enemy, I need to allow the Lord to work\u2026if I do, I will be able to sing, as the Israelites did. <em>\u201cWe escaped like a bird from a hunter\u2019s trap. The trap is broken and we are free!\u201d<\/em> (Psalm 124:7 NLT)<\/p>\n<p>He has brought some amazing people who are standing beside me, battling for me during this time, reminding me that <em>\u201c<\/em><em>A person standing alone can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand back-to-back and conquer. Three are even better, for a triple-braided cord is not easily broken\u201d <\/em>(Ecclesiastes 4:12).<\/p>\n<p>Finally, I remember Jesus\u2014broken for me. \u201c\u2026and when He had given thanks, He broke <em>it<\/em> and said, <em>\u201cTake, eat; this is My body which is broken for you; do this in remembrance of Me\u201d<\/em> (1 Corinthians 11:24). By allowing Himself to be broken, He made the way for my brokenness to be eternally healed. I am forever grateful.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>\u201cLord, thank You that You don\u2019t leave us broken. Help us to trust You to mend us as You see fit.
