\u201cFixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before Him He endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.\u201d<\/em> Hebrews 12:2<\/span><\/p>\n

Fixing Our Eyes On Jesus<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n

This year I had the privilege of experiencing the miracle of my son becoming a father. I had no doubt that he would love his child and be a good daddy because that is the kind of man he is. But what I wasn\u2019t prepared for was to see the intense love he has for his daughter and her love for him.<\/span><\/p>\n

From the day she was born he began talking to her while holding her securely in his arms.\u00a0 Her eyes opened and her gaze was fixed firmly on him in her first hours of life. As the months went on, their bond became stronger. As soon as her daddy enters the room, she senses his presence and her eyes turn toward the voice that she recognizes as her daddy. And when he picks her up, she instantly fixes her eyes on him, as if there is no one else in the room with this intense bond of love. His gaze back to her is one of the most beautiful things I have experienced\u2014seeing him looking at her with his eyes of love.<\/span><\/p>\n

This is the look we need with Jesus. Locking our eyes on Him, no matter what is happening around us. Taking time to gaze at Him and surrender our hearts. We have a Daddy, a Father, a King, and in his Presence everything will be okay. We are His delight. Fixing our eyes on Jesus is turning over worry, fear, pain, unanswered prayers, and questions to the One who knows all. It\u2019s looking towards the One who loves with no boundaries, no conditions, and no time constraints. It\u2019s reverencing him as King of all creation, Lord of all.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Fixing our eyes on Jesus is an act of worship and adoration, surrendering to the will of Him who paid it all. Just like a baby who is dependent on her mother and father for every need, helpless and fully surrendered, this is us with our need for Jesus.<\/span><\/p>\n
