\u201cMy little children, these things I write to you, so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the Righteous. And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world.\u201d<\/em> 1 John 2:1-2<\/span><\/p>\n

The Advocate<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n

I don\u2019t think everything we dream while sleeping is some deep message from God, but I do sit up and take notice when a dream rocks my world. That\u2019s what happened the other night.<\/span><\/p>\n

I dreamt I was walking down a long hallway lined with many faces\u2014people from my past, people I\u2019d worked with, gone to school with, even some family members. You\u2019d think this would be a happy experience, but to my dismay and alarm, their faces were stone cold. Their judgment, even disgust, was palpable as I cowered in their presence. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Soon, a man came to the front of the line of people and shouted, \u201cYes, condemn her NOW! There\u2019s no hope!\u201d The deep fear I felt extended beyond the dream world as I began to shake. \u201cUnless\u2026\u201d he continued, \u201cunless there\u2019s an advocate. Is there an advocate in the house?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Everyone looked around, from one to the other. Who would stand up for me? Not one, not even one of these so-called friends would stand with me. I was definitely doomed.<\/span><\/p>\n

Then, from the back, someone yelled, \u201cWait! There IS an advocate!\u201d Relief flooded my very being as I realized someone was going to be my advocate, my legal representative in this evil tribunal. I strained to see in the distance who it might be that would stand with me.<\/span><\/p>\n

As I began to wake up and remember that my only Advocate was the Lord Jesus Christ, unbelievable tears of relief, joy and thanksgiving washed over me. Oh, yeah, that\u2019s right, I do have an Advocate! \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThank You, Jesus, for being our Advocate, our Savior, and taking our place on the cross. We now have new life and the promise of eternal life with You. We are no longer condemned! Hallelujah! How can we thank You enough for what You\u2019ve done? Amen and amen!\u201d<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n
