\u201cHeaven and earth will pass away, but My words will never pass away.\u201d Matthew 24:35<\/span><\/p>\n

Before the End (of the world)<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n

We thought this place a paradise<\/span>
\nWe thought this place looked awfully nice;<\/span>
\n(awful in parts, nice in parts)<\/span>
\nbut all our thoughts<\/span>
\nwere wrong.<\/span>
\nOnce, there was a world, with things;<\/span>
\na heaven full of fluttered wings;<\/span>
\nbirds would fly and hail would fall,<\/span>
\nand we thought this was all, was all,<\/span>
\nand we thought this was all.<\/span>
\nAnd it was built by word,<\/span>
\nand words like bricks<\/span>
\nand life were heard<\/span>
\non what was once a glittering world<\/span>
\nthat sparkled in the setting sun \u2018til just<\/span>
\nbefore the day was done<\/span>
\nand we thought this<\/span>
\nwas all, (our walls)<\/span>
\nyes, we thought we were very small,<\/span>
\nbut we thought this was all.<\/span><\/p>\n

I wrote this poem after reading today\u2019s Scripture. As a writer, I was struck by the notion that all that will remain of what we can now see are words. The only words that will remain are the words of Jesus. He created everything with a word; His words are all powerful. \u201cBy faith, we understand that the universe was created by the Word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things that are visible\u201d<\/em> (Hebrews 11:3 ESV).<\/span><\/p>\n

For anyone who knows Jesus and His Word, this is a hopeful concept. For anyone who does not know Jesus and has never heard His Word, this is a completely devastating concept. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cAs it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark\u201d<\/em> (Matthew 24:37-38).<\/span><\/p>\n

God hasn\u2019t destroyed the world yet because He is patiently waiting for as many as will come to him for salvation (2 Peter 3:9). He wants to save everyone. It\u2019s important that we keep this concept at the forefront of our lifestyle. This is also why Jesus instructed us not to worry about material things, (the things we can actually see and touch) but to seek first HIS kingdom (an invisible concept to those of us still alive in the physical world). He promises to meet all of our daily needs if we do this. \u201cBut seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you\u201d<\/em> (Matthew 6:33 BSB).<\/span><\/p>\n

What is your calling? Don\u2019t answer that without asking Jesus. He has you here for a specific purpose.<\/span><\/p>\n

So, \u201cDo not store up treasures here on earth, where moths eat them and rust destroys them, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal\u201d<\/em> (Matthew 6:19-20).<\/span><\/p>\n
